Powder Conveying Equipment – Screw Conveyor
Brief Introduction:Screw conveyor is usually composed of three parts: screw conveyor body, in-out device and drive device.
In the work process of
stationary concrete batching plant, when transporting powder materials from
cement silo to JS series concrete mixer you need to use a kind of power conveying equipment – screw conveyor, commonly known as auger. The working principle and structure are as follows.
1. Working Principle
When the spiral shaft rotates, due to the material gravity and the friction generated by the tank wall, materials can only move forward along the screw conveyor under the blade push force and the movement of materials in the intermediate bearing is dependent on the propulsive force of the latter advancing materials.
Therefore, the transport of materials in the screw conveyor is a kind of slip movement. In order to make the screw shaft in more favorable tension state, the drive device and the discharge port are generally placed at the same end of the screw conveyor while the feed port is set as far as possible at the other end.
2. Feature And Structure
Screw conveyor is usually composed of three parts: screw conveyor body, in-out device and drive device. The screw machine body mainly contains head section, middle section and tail section.
A thrust bearing is provided in the head section of the screw conveyor to bear the axial force. The middle section and the tail section are also arranged bearings to brace screw shaft. In addition, the screw conveyor tail section is equipped with radial bearing which permits axial movement to compensate the error of screw shaft length and adapt to the temperature changes.
In general, the middle section of our LSY screw conveyor is assembled according to length. The longest is close to the head section and the same lengths are close together.
